A multinational Construction Company hires a high experienced HEAD of Procurement Department with fluent English for Cluj-Napoca based office.
The vacancy is newly opened in the company, for the purpose of a new department development.

Qualifications and required skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (it is a must!)
  • Qualification in Purchasing/ Logistics
  • Experience in manufacturing/ civil construction – procurement, operations, engineering or supply management (min. 5 -10 years)
  • Business Acumen, analytical and math skills
  • English –advanced level , Hungarian –medium level (can be an advantage)
  • Supplier relationship and Team management skills
  • Conflict Management and very good communication skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
  • Solid judgement and decision making skills
  • Negotiation and strategic agility
  • Dealing with ambiguity and stress
  • Integrity, authenticity and leadership
  • Driving license

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Creating and developing liaisons with suppliers and representing the commercial interests of the company;
  • Negotiating all contractual aspects with all suppliers;
  • Performing risk analyzes on main suppliers, seeking alternative suppliers and executing plans to maximize the purchasing cost/quality ratio;
  • Proactively address the contract negotiation/renegotiation needs for those contracts which are either close to expire or have quality challenges;
  • Conducts negotiations with potential and/or current major suppliers to obtain maximum value;
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming demand level;
  • Elaborating strategies to ensure the continuity of stocks and services, in order to avoid blockages in the execution department ;
  • Defining, coordinating and monitoring suppliers’ performance reports, in order to ensure compliance with management objectives (cost, quality, service, delivery);
  • Constantly follow-up and observe the market trends for the main purchase categories and propose renegotiation opportunities;;
  • Planning, monitoring, evaluating and coordinating all the activities of the procurement department;
  • Supervise a small team of purchasing specialists;
  • Evaluating and monitoring team performance;
